Joining eBid & Membership Levels..

Joining eBid Online Auctions is easy. Presently membership is restricted to people resident in 14 countries, but is soon going to include many more.

The form is straightforward, but MUST be filled in correctly, using a fake address or a non-existent phone number is a guaranteed method of getting your account suspended.

When you first join your membership level is Buyer (formerly Bronze), that means you can buy, but not sell.

If you wish to sell on eBid you need to upgrade your account to either Seller (formerly Silver) or Seller Plus (formerly Platinum) level, to do this you need to login to your ebid account, go to My eBid - My Subscriptions & choose your level there.

Seller membership is free but does currently require credit/debit card verification (the form may say you have been billed £1.00 or a $1.00 but you have not). Seller Level members can list a "Standard Auction" for free & will only pay 3% final value fee when the items sells, there is no set minimum charge so you do not get penalised for listing lower priced goods, (unlike some of the other alternative sites). A "Standard Auction" is pretty basic, you do not get a gallery picture, you do not get an invoicing facility, you cannot list a BuyNow Only auction, it is aimed at casual sellers. Due to demand from Seller members, ebid have recently introduced a Platinum Auction, with a set listing fee of 5p (the fvf is still 3%) for this Seller level sellers get most of the same options as Seller+ level sellers.

Seller+ membership is subscription based, the subscription is recurring, so if you sign up for 7 days Seller+, your card is billed every 7 days. It is NOT a 7 day trial. To end your subscription, go to My eBid - My Subscriptions & downgrade to Seller or Buyer. The options for seller plus are to pay every, 7, 30, 90, or 365 days, or you can pay a Lifetime Seller+ Subscription for a "one off" fee, which is currently £79.99 in the UK. Seller+ members can list a "Free Auction" these have no final value fee (but no gallery thumbnail), or a "Gallery Auction" (the most popular option) these have a gallery photo & a fvf of 2%,again only payable when the item sells. Seller+ members can integrate payment with Google Checkout, Pppay, & Paypal if they wish. They can open up to five shops for free. They can list BuyNow Only (fixed price) Auctions, Also Run til Sold Auctions,they can add video to their listings.
